Men of Honor Mentor Training
for men wishing to mentor in the LeadershipWorks INITIATION and Men of Honor mentoring programs

LeadershipWorks is committed to offering its programs to as many young men as possible. To do that, we need an army of men.
Men of integrity are needed. This training introduces Mitch's model for mentoring adolescent boys and prepares men to mentor in the INTIATION and Men of Honor 10-week mentoring program developed by LeadershipWorks.
The $40 fee includes the training and the LeadershipWorks Mentor and Facilitator Manual.

Men who complete the training are eligible to serve on production at an INITIATION weekend and eventually facilitate a Men of Honor group. LeadershipWorks mentors all undergo fingerprinting and screening. Before they receive a placement as a mentor, they will be interviewed by the Program Director Mitch DeArmon.

Because we believe in the importance of this work, LeadershipWorks also pays the Men of Honor mentors a small stipend for conducting the groups.

We welcome your participation!

This training introduces a new model for mentoring adolescent boys for service providers, educators, therapists, probation officers, social workers, mental health workers, and others who support young men's healthy development. Provides an innovative framework for working with teen boys and training in gender specific facilitation skills.

The fact is boys are different and so is the mentoring they require. Where self-esteem, safety, and relationship govern girl mentoring models, boys are motivated to change through the standards expected of them, their conduct, and performance. What works with girls does not work with boys, and in fact, does them harm. The physicality of young men and the outward focus of attention, all demand a new model for mentoring and a new kind of mentor. This model has been developed by Mitch DeArmon based on his experience with thousands of young men and mentors.
The fee includes training, LeadershipWorks Mentor and Facilitator Manual and lunch. The one-day training runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. LeadershipWorks Men of Honor mentors receive a courtesy discount.
